KODIAK, AK - Apr 12, 2019 - The 35’ x 13’ landing craft Sea Wolf recently arrived in Kodiak after a successful voyage from Port Angeles, Washington. The vessel was built by Armstrong Marine USA for Kodiak Legends Lodge in Larsen Bay, Alaska.
Twin Yamaha 300hp outboards, paired with SeaStar Power Assist Pro steering, power the vessel. Twin 180- gallon fuel tanks maximize range, navigated with a Garmin/NMEA electronics package.
A walk-around cabin, extended T-transom, fish cleaning station, and two self-draining fish lockers make Sea Wolf well-suited for fishing excursions in Uyak Bay and surrounding waters. Additional customizations for fishing include three downrigger pads with wired Scotty plugs and sockets, four Scotty plug-ins for electric reels at the bow, 22 aluminum rocket launchers along the gunwale and cabin rooftop, and a removable davit with Electra-Dyne trap hauler.
The 10-passenger USCG Subchapter T vessel features ballistic nylon bench seating, a head, and a Webasto heater for comfort. AJR Marine windows optimize wildlife viewing. Bentley Patriot seats are located at the helm and co-pilot stations.
The versatile boat also features 10 recessed tie-downs on the forward deck for safe transport of an ATV or lodge supplies. A hydraulic drop bow door makes for easy beach loading and unloading.
Captain Rafe Oliphant commented that Sea Wolf is “a solid vessel and will be an outstanding platform for our guests’ adventures. The boat performed above and beyond our expectations along the whole route, ten days through the Inside Passage and across the Northern Gulf of Alaska. We can’t wait to get gear on board and go chase some fish!”
With a three-week early completion by Armstrong, Kodiak Legends Lodge has been preparing for the vessel’s inaugural summer season. They expect the addition of Sea Wolf will deliver the ultimate Alaskan experience to their guests.
